Includes driving time up to 30 mins from Sechelt.

Gibsons Yacht club hosted an anchoring seminar in Feb 2023 with 20 people attending the session. During the 3 hours, we covered a range of topics including types of anchors, rode composition, to how to choose an anchorage and more. It was well received with lots of engaged questions from participants that helped direct the program content.
Knots, Lines and Boating Terms
Knots, Lines and Boating Terms
Gibsons Yacht club hosted a seminar on knots, Lines and boating terms in August 2023 with 15 people attending. During the 3 hours we practiced common knots and gave guidelines on how to choose the right knot and line for the intended task. Time was also spent covering key boat terms and their meaning.
Boating Skills
Gibsons Yacht club hosted a Boating Skills in April 2023 with 12 people. We covered a range of topics including that interested all recreational water users including the basics of charts, rules of the road, weather, tides and knots.

Currently planning a seminar in early 2024 (Place to be determined). During the 3 hours, we will cover a range of topics including techniques for handling symmetric and asymmetric spinnakers. On land course, but at dock or on water sessions available - weather permitting.
