Sail Canada Competent Crew
Aim is to provide the skills to act as a capable crew member, while cruising in light to moderate wind and sea conditions, during daylight hours.
Recommended training boat is sloop rigged and 6 to 10m in length.
Suggested Course Length is 18 hours minimum.
Previous experience and self study can reduce that time.
No written test is required.

Sail Canada Basic Cruising Standard
Sail Canada Basic Cruising Standard
Aim is to provide the skills to act as helm and crew member, while cruising in light to moderate wind and sea conditions, during daylight hours.
Recommended training boat is sloop rigged and 6 to 10m in length.
Suggested Course Length is 35 hours minimum.
Previous experience and self study can reduce that time.
Written test is required with a pass mark of 75%.
